In our Darn It! Learning to Mend Workshop, Allie (they/them) will teach you the darning stitch: weave beautiful patches into your garments and decorate them, or use matching yarn to disguise a small hole. You will also have the opportunity to try mending with needle-felting techniques, and learn the basics of a darning loom!

Please bring:

  • Any garment in need of mending, especially knitwear (IE: t-shirts, socks, sweaters, hats, and mittens).

  • Your darning tool - this doesn’t have to be a fancy darning egg or mushroom, it can be anything that fits inside the garment to act as a support. Lightbulbs, jars, scrap wood, and even oranges can be great darning tools.

  • If you have a particular matching or beautiful yarn
